Bates? What Bates?

Recently I'm on an assignment to audit Bates accounts, one of the well known advertising company in prior years - fact that that the Company had downsized in year 2003. However, it still have some big clientele though. I can't disclose much here due to my job's independance policy.

What I can see in an advertising company's environment is that, people are better off cheerful and playful, yet hardworking like us because of deadlines too. Not all. Some of them werebusy doing "something else" during the day, that's why they stayed back late. Some of them just have got nothing to do all day! Only some of the minority whom need to stay up late to clear things up, because he/she is resigning. It is now non-peak season, as there are no festivals to get them to working. One of them once told me, when it's time to work, they really have to work. Then I thought - I have been Really working for more about half a year now, it is not over and yet another big project for me is coming - an electronic manufacturing company, Flextronics in Shah Alam! Yeah bring it on.

During the good times of Bates, the directors used to buy most of the furnitures from Bali, Indonesia. Office standards are ensured. Some part of the floor is wooden based, a big aquarium at the front of the reception, and the entrance path is parelled with twin stretches of white stones. Television sound is heard around the office and the pantry as there were speakers hung at some of the high traffic points. Even of Saturdays there is volume output from the speakers. And uh, a smoking room:

Smoking room, formal-ly known as meeting room

I have no idea did they produce that 18 plus warning signage as well?

There were Australians working very next to our cubicles. They used to switch on their speaker phones to talk and they scold, talk loudly like nobody's business.

G (Australian): So, S, do you think I have got a crystal ball here yea?
S (local) : Sorry? Ball?
G : Yea do you think I got a fucking crystal ball that I could see what's going on there in X yea?! You did not fucking call me!
S : We have everything under control bla bla bla
G : You gotta update me alright. I'm like sitting here like a fucking donkey waiting for your call. You need to tell me what's going on there ya!
S : Ok the stage is still Bla Bla Bla ...
G : Alright. -puts down the phone.
G : Talks to himself - Fuck, what's wrong with these people?

Well yeah that's fucking rude for a foreigner yea.

Comes to a notice sticked on the wall, states:

What an experience in an advertising company. Alot of elements in the Company have its own nature of creativity.

Update on StudioTraffic

So, StudioTraffic has announced its top management has quit, and everyone has let go of it and swore against StudioTraffic. I, too, had finally lost confidence a couple of days later when it declared that Malaysian office (my home country's ST branch) has to be closed down too. ST was experiencing a shakeover since 12/13 March 2006, where most of its members were left dissappointed and some in much despair. I too, felt a sudden lost of direction of life, as the news on management quitting was such a shock! Few days before the deadful day, John Hoaran, the founder was saying about how to expand the business, and after that he announced that the branches will be closed down. No worries. Today, John announced:

Hello,
Due recent events that everyone of you may be aware (Canadian Office resignation, Stormpay have froze our funds, and so forth). Was the main reason of my absence in order to think clearly on a new plan that will let this company on the business of adverstings and keep with your surfings working. As many of you may know Stormpay is withholding unlawfully a quite considerable amount of funds reserve we have with them. This directly affected our regular operation into the advertising business, placing everyone of us in a stressed situation, which mainly affect our Top Managements Structure located in the Canada Office who could not support the pressure of such circumstances. The consequence of this situation was our Top managements Resignation and the Canadian, as well as UK,Spain and Malaysia offices got closed. Causing a quite considerable reduction of our staff at the company.I think this information it is not new to all of you , but as I always told you there is nothing I need to hide you, and show you the current situation .But let me tell you more about this situation and what are the future plans I am working on.Our loyalty and well trained programming staff is still working with us, we have volunteers working on the new plan we are going to launch within a very short period of time. I have interviewed a very well trained and potencials candidates for the NEW Top management Structure. Within in a few days I will make my final decision on whom will be the new Top Managers who will be in charge of recruiting and rebuild the New Staff in charge of the payouts, support. And so forth. Also I do need to tell you, of course due the Stormpay issue, we are not longer taking upgrades through this payment processor. On Paypal we are currently updating the paypal system improving its functionality, planning to launched again. So at the moment we are only taking E-Gold and Studiopay upgrades. Studiopay will just only be available to upgrade using money which was surfing earnings and commissions. Once we have our Studiopay Offices opened again we will let you use this payment processor for outside fundingsAbout the not in profits members let me inform that you will still be able to surf as usual, and your payout, refunds, and staff support (ticket Desk and Online Chat) will be restored once our Top Managers have rebuilt the Staff Crew in a short time.About the in profits members you are considered into the New Project in order to restore your surfing and come back to earn with Studiotraffic. This is my last post till I come back with the NEW PLAN ready to be implemented and with accurate information for you. This will take me a short time.I did NOT run away and hidden from none, as it was said in a few post I have readI hope all members will understand that we are doing our best. We will continue to work hard and make sure this company will keep running.

Sincerely
John

... and therefore, today, as one of the StudioTraffic Premium member, announced to begin surfing StudioTraffic again just like before! If there is really a new management, there will be a new StudioTraffic. Some policies will change and unloyal members are gone. So what's left are .. motivated and ST-appreciable members like me! Should ST revived, I definately will promote ST like never before. Long live StudioTraffic!

Some Things You Do Not Know About Gold

Ancient medium of exchange is re-explored here. Gold is now running on a bull market, caused by the rise of oil prices, unpopular Bush's war against the "terrors" as well as declining US Dollar value. Gold tends to trade opposite to the dollar and the dollar is about to resume its long-term decline.

Billionaire George Soros publicly disclosed that he had built a massive short position against the US dollar. Three months later his former partner, Jim Rogers, recommended that people buy gold to hedge themselves. Warren Buffet, the most famous investor in America, announced that he had bought a basket of foreign currencies to profit from a coming decline in the dollar. Although he didn’t disclose the size of his position he called it “massive” and noted that it was the first time he ever bought a single foreign currency. Buffett has an uncanny habit of making money in the stock market. In May of 2002 he bought $600 million dollars worth of puts on the S&P 500 that exploded in value when the stock market tanked later that summer.

He is now warning of an impending dollar crisis that could last for years. “Our country’s net worth so to speak, is now being transferred abroad at an alarming rate,” he said. “In effect,” he warned, “our country has been behaving like an extraordinary rich family that possesses an immense farm. In order to consume 4% more than we produce – that’s the trade deficit – we have day by day, been both selling pieces of the farm and increase the mortgage on what we still own.”

According to Mike Swanson, "the accumulation of debt in the United States cannot continue much longer. In the last century the ratio of debt to GDP hovered between 120% and 160%. In 1929 debt rose to 260%. Now the ratio of debt to GDP is at a mad 300% and has been growing over the past year. Something has to give."

Economist Mark Thornton, author of Tariffs, Blockades, and Inflation, agrees. He thinks investors need to pay attention to gold. "There is always a bull market somewhere in the economy. It could be junk bonds, real estate, a particular currency, tech stocks, foreign markets, land, blue chips, or small caps, " he says, "Today we are in a bull market in gold and commodities. Oil and gas are at all-time highs while metals such as silver are up more than 25% in 2004."

Not mentioning its economic values, gold has a variety of beneficial characteristics to electronics, and biologically too. Pure gold is too soft for ordinary use and is hardened by alloying with silver and copper. Gold and its many alloys are most often used in jewelry, coinage and as a standard for monetary exchange in many countries. Because of its superior electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion and other desirable combinations of physical and chemical properties, gold also emerged in the late 20th century as an essential industrial metal. Other uses:

  • Gold performs critical functions in computers, communications equipment, spacecraft, jet aircraft engines, and a host of other products.
  • The high electrical conductivity and resistance to oxidation of gold has led to its widespread use as thin layers electroplated on the surface of electrical connectors to ensure a good, low-resistance connection.
  • Like silver, gold can form a hard amalgam with mercury, and is sometimes used for dental fillings.
  • Colloidal gold (gold nanoparticles) is an intensely colored solution that is currently studied in many labs for medical, biological and other applications. It is also the form used as gold paint on ceramics prior to firing.
  • Chlorauric acid is used in photography for toning the silver image.
Disodium aurothiomalate is a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (administered intramuscularly).
  • The gold isotope Au-198, (half-life: 2.7 days) is used in some cancer treatments and for treating other diseases.
  • Gold is used as a coating enabling biological material to be viewed under a scanning electron microscope.
  • Since it is a good reflector of both infrared and visible light, it is used for the protective coatings on many artificial satellites.

Raw facts gathered from bambooweb.com & wallstreetwindow.com

We can buy/sell/trade gold online these days. It's called e-gold. Rest assured it's 100% backed by gold authorities in New York and London (read more in https://www.e-gold.com), unlike the some other payment processors such as Stormpay. We can even trade merchandise or services using e-gold, as a medium of exchange. It's like we are going way back to the ancient times of trading, but in the modern internet technology environment.

I've finally found a site to exchange e-golds for Asian countries, where funds can be deposit into account to buy e-gold, and sell e-gold. I recommend these:
They have been around for years. E-gold is Fraudless and most stable payment processing in the market.
