Happy Mooncake Festival

Chinese celebrates Mooncake Festival on the 15th day of 8th month (of the Chinese Calendar) annually, a month after the "ghost festival". This year, Mooncake Festival falls on Sunday the 18th September 2005 and mooncake business has boomed once again as early as this month, even in the midst of the Chinese "ghost festival".

Therefore, to celebrate the coming of the Mooncake Festival, I have been given the obligation to distribute a "new kind" of mooncake, called the Jelly Mooncake.

The Jelly Mooncake - Actually there were 4 pieces, I tried one of it, it was awesome! That's why one is missing.

It's a new creation of a friend, therefore I would be honoured to have the opportunity to let anyone to try it. You should know that:

Order quantity: Min. two pieces to fit into a 2-piece-box - best for gifts; or
4 pieces to fit into 4-piece-box
Price: RM8.00 per piece
Product: Jelly (a.k.a agar-agar) on top, with 2 flavours of filling on the inside
Filling: Choice of Yam or Red bean
Serving: Cold (To be kept in the fridge)
Expiry: Approx. one week
Satisfaction: Guaranteed!

Now the normal mooncake is selling as high as RM9-RM10 per piece, and I would suggest that the price of this new mooncake is relatively cheap. Try it!

Order through me @ +6012-2065285 (hp) by sending a msg or call or +603-79828080 (h) or drop me a simple mail at aakiang@hotmail.com. Anyway anyhow no probs.

An Island of Beauty Trip 26th Aug - 30th Aug 2005

Tioman Island, a renowned island in Malaysia for years and years, but it was my first time stepping on its soil after 24 years staying in Malaysia. Yup, travel by bus from Kuala Lumpur to Mersing (Johor state) in 5-6 hours, ended up like a zombie after reaching the Mersing Jetty. Once I was stepping down from the bus, a marketing officer from one of the many speedboat charter companies approached us for transportation service from mainland to the island. I had no worries for the transportation at all. I paid RM140 for 2 persons, to and fro by speedboat transport, which lasted an hour plus per journey.

After reaching Tekek jetty, we travelled by Berjaya mini bus to Berjaya Resort, about 7 minutes away from the jetty, FOC. So we got down from the bus in the resort at 9 plus in the morning, being the last one who got down with a bunch of other tourists and therefore we checked in being the last. The effect of it: no king size bed rooms for us, but left only two single bed rooms and we still have to wait for it to be cleaned up by 1 pm. So we were given a complimentary fruit punch for the wait but the Cafe which serves it has yet to open. The lesson I learnt here is not to be so nice to foreigners to give them way out from the bus first, and I am the last one to get down and check in.

We then had lunch at other cafe and we had burgers at RM6 each. Kuala Lumpur is selling half the price dude! We also had mee rebus (steam mee) at RM8. The prices are terribly joking us, but still, we had to cure our hunger. Then I noticed alot of foreigners with bikinis around the resort, amazing:

Spotted one from the burger stall

Is Tioman a bikini haven?

Yes, it is confirmed. Almost 100% of foreigners came here to sun bath. Even Asians like Japanese and locals wear bikinis too

So girls, next time if you are going to Tioman Island, pack up your favourite bikinis before you go, or else, you will end up like her:

Lonely and sad..... =o( hehehhe

The sceneries that I think are "kewl":

Steamboat arena, RM48 per pax, not buffet

The chalets

The beach and some chalets

So what can we do there?

Or, come to play with the nature:

The donkey ranch

The river of crocs, nah they are just some kind of lizards

Things are sold at highly quoted prices, especially foods and beverages. But, there were beers selling at RM3 for a can in duty free shops! The point is: don't eat, just drink till your very last day on the island. =o)

Rave Party 20 Aug 2005

At a Rave party... there are:

Ahhen & Voonim

Lo Ping

Wai Kiung

Free group picture service provided by the management. Kewl!

and some other people which I have not had the opportunity to take picture with..

It was a huge huge rave, held on the beach at Port Dickson, Malaysia. The parking space was very very limited. Most of the people parked at the roadside, some parked at other people's golf course, some parked at petrol stations, some also double-parked, with a message stucked on his window telling the other car that he's sorry coz he was unable to find parking space, henceforth he was forced to double-park. O_o The amount of cars were enormous! The crowd was even more enormous! Police and army were there to control the traffic and situation.

Chicks were everywhere. Being more than before.

Hmmm.. ok

As everyone thought it was a beach party, they came with bikinis O_O

It's true..

Some of the people were Melbourne Shuffling, there were group performance dancing too, where some of the people showing off their skills ranging from Melbourne Shuffles, Glow, "Thailand dance" and even the original in-front-of-Imbi-Plaza-KL-break dance. Fuhh, everyone was delighted from the free shows.

Lightning fast shuffling move. My hp camera incapable of capturing the moves

Then..

Fireworks came

More fireworks came

And the party I presume the biggest of them all based on crowdedness and difficulty in finding a parking space and the perimeter the event occupied, is

Salem Revelation Party - The Ultimate Beach Party @ Admiral Marina, Port Dickson, Malaysia

ps. Not an entirely beach party afterall. We were dancing on tarmac!

Enjoy, Yet Saving Transportation Costs

Some tables and chair suppliers for house events are playing a circus party on their small lorries. I have been following them for a while, seeing the man at times were adjusting his butt on the wooden flat tables whenever the lorry turns, he seemed so afraid of falling.

Due to the surge of oil prices, people tend to put life at risk to cut costs. Especially Chinese.

How BAD Is A Bad Air Day..

US, it is time for you to conserve the earth's environmental problems and improve its longetivity. The Indonesian were burning the forest almost each year, and it usually happened in the days of dry spells.

The effect? Of coz resulting in a one win and one lose scenario. The Indons never care. Why? Here's why:

The wind's blowing to the north east direction, that's why! How clean the air is in Sumatera (the mother-Foggers) compared to the Peninsula Malaysia (the sufferer).

For few days, Malaysians living in the CBD, the Kuala Lumpur, have to bear with the "end of days", "the armageddon", "war of the worlds" situation. We could hardly breath and our eyes are soaring, and we are forced by ownself to stay indoors, cancelling much plans for the week to prevent from causing ourselves inhaling carbon and dusts floating in the air. In the middle of the day, the throat would be full of dusts and small particles that we breath from the natural air, I just feel how important and high value the clean and natural air is. If you wonder how it looks like in Kuala Lumpur, the main city of neighbouring country of Singapore, have a glimpse:

The aerial view from KLCC Twin Towers, the world's second tallest building

View of KL Tower, from ground

You can't even see a shit! BTW, where's sunlight? Isn't it the same sight as the movie "Armageddon"?

Some flights are cancelled, hundreds of schools closed down, businesses stopped or delayed, health deteriorated, you name it.

The fun thing is, the Indons government said sorry and request for help to cut off the burning in its own country. Jakarta enjoys bright sunligh everyday, did not even have any idea how tough it is in Kuala Lumpur.

The main page of Jakarta Post reports the latest political developments of some parties and the murder of a human rights campaigner, as well as the discouragement of students entering private universities by some Indon states. The issue of fogging forest is merely a critism of environmentalists, an issue as minute as a piece of dead ant.

From my opinion, as a lay person, I think God knew the Indon Sumaterans would uncivilisedly burning His forests, so He created a 3 storey high tsunami to cover up all the fires burning as well as "the uncivilised" to its grave on December 26, but miscalculated or mispredicted the date. If there is a forest fire, wouldn't it be good if there's a tsunami to cover it up?

But fair enough, man who causes the fire, man who sufferred the destruction and man who cleans up the mess. What matter is, which kind of man? The devils will always be enjoying starting the fire, and the angels will be there to put off the fire. Glad that the world is still equal in some manner.
